Carp fishing has changed a lot since I first started in the mid sixties. It is now a big buisines which in a way I feel has corrupted the sport, making it too comercailised but on the other hand it does mean that we do not have to make all our own gear anymore.

If you are new to carp fishing, it is nice to own all the latest gear but you do not need it to catch carp. Do not let the expense of having all the top branded carp gear put you off carp fishing.
